More photos of the move. because of wear she was found the move involved
setting her down and switching trucks several times before I finally got her
home (once in old lime and once at my house (because the ground was so soft on
the day of the move we could not get her up my driveway so I had to call on
the kindness of a local business to allow me to use their parking lot for two
weeks until I could dig a proper and stable area for her to be moved to on our
propriety) much thanks to Bruce Avery at Noank marine and Sal at S&J marina
for there patience and skill

Hear are a few photos of what i have been doing while I was waiting for Half
Moon to be moved. Refinished the boom, striped and disassembled the rudder
(currently looking for the right stock to remake it (the old pieces will serve
as templates first and as a nice chart table later?) the spreaders will all
need to be replaced later but I have good template material at least, as well
as the fittings.

So here we go! the garboards have been removed as well as some of the
internal concrete ballast so that a better look at the frame ends and floor
timbers can be had (all of witch are rotted through) however with new
sistered frames running down to within a foot of the keel it doesn't seem
too hard of a fix so I am not complaining. At this time I also removed the
bowsprit which had rotted clear through to as well as into the stem (both of
witch will need to be replaced latter on) On a lighter note, the keel
appears to be in fairly good shape aside from some checking in a few
areas (none of witch appear to go all the way through) so I am hoping to
remedy it with epoxy. all in all it is about what I had expected
after seeing photos of Katarina's restoration. So what can we learn from all
of this... While I am not in any way an expert I think that I can safely
say at this point that concrete and wood boats simply don't mix!
