unfortunately the crane firm underestimated the size of crane despite several
site visits and couldn't lift her. So now trying to reschedule everyone for a
few weeks time. Will keep you up to date when we have a new time. Good thing
is it looks like I'll be able to be there for the second attempt.
Hi bruce
Just thought I'd let you know the progress (or more accurately lack of
progress) on the Nellie H front. After the first aborted effort to move her
(too small a crane) we are now waiting to pick a window for the next effort.
This involves coordinating the boat moving company (who drove down last time
only to find the boat couldn't be moved), the crane company (who now have a
bigger crane) and the bridge schedule into deer island. Like an eclipse these
things only line up rarely and for a short time but ken is doing a great job
of coordinating things and hopes to fix a moving date soon. Once the date is
sorted I'll fly over to meet with Ken and Pete.
Hopefully then we can get some schedule of work sorted and things can move on.
Would also like to finally meet you if you are around.
will let you know when we have some fixed dates
cheers

Bruce,
Finally Nellie is on the road and on her way to maine. Hopefully I can make a
trip out in the next few weeks so maybe we can meet up. I am also hoping to
write a short article to send along with some pictures to the news desk of
classic boat magazine as I am sure they would like to follow the restoration
which was after all born out of an article in the magazine. I have attached
some photos of Nellie swinging in the breeze (always a scary moment)

Bruce,
Just to wish you and your family a great Christmas and to give you a quick
update on Nellie h. She is safely tucked up in Pete's shed and we hope to
start work in the spring. Unfortunately i was unable to fly out before
Christmas but hope to be out on the east coast for Jan/Feb so am hoping you
will be about so we can finally meet. Have submitted a short piece for the
news section of classic boat just saying that she has been moved to Pete's
ready for the work to start along with the photo of her dangling from the
crane.
thanks again for all your help in setting this up. Am very excited about
starting the project proper.
cheers
James
