Hi Bruce,

Well I've done it now. I bought 2 WO boards one 6X20X21' and one 4.5X21X20'. It ran $1500 with the cost of a rental truck added in. So went Tuesday. Today they are 16 roughed out pieces. So now I can say I've started the restoration and can't back out. I hope I'm up to it.

 I'll send photos later. Don

The wood turned out to be just what I needed and the 16 5/16 circular saw from ebay worked great for sawing it up. I roughed the pieces out then worked them down slowly to match the originals, stacked them up and carved them down with a Lancelot then sanded smooth. The result was the deadwood and keelson all ready for floors.
Right now I have 5 floors installed and all of the floors roughed out. I am using temporary lag bolts to hold them to the keel and drywall screws with fender washers to fasten the planks. After all the floors are faired and locked in I'll drill the keel bolt holes. That ought to be a fun experience.
Here are some pictures of the progression from the beginning to the present. I'm sorry I didn't start the progress log sooner but it wasn't a sure thing that I was going to be able to get the white oak I needed and it almost became a total loss. I still haven't cleared the title problem up but I'm going to take the chance that it will work out

I got nervous waiting for paperwork from the title company and again decided to stop working on her for a while. That was 3 weeks ago. Yesterday the paper finally caught up to the boat. I received a notarized bill of sale and a copy of the last registration which will allow me to register in R.I. and apply for the title.
I finished making the floors and striped out most of the temporary structure, made about a half a million measurements and started clearing things out of the way to steam in new frames. I still haven't decided if I'll pull out all of the old screws and reuse the planking. Some of it is usable/repairable but it would be time consuming to save it. I've been looking for planking stock but haven't found what I want yet so I'll keep my options open.
So here are some updated pictures of what she looks like. Things will be going slow as I am now being forced to work on the house in order to keep peace in the family. I don't know if I'll try to get her into the water this year, the wife wants a new roof on the house, etc, etc, etc.

Hi Bruce,
I got the paperwork from the title company and went to Providence and registered the boat on Monday. Boy did I get worried when it took so long for the title co. to respond. The first time they called me they said they couldn't register it in Louisiana with the number 3, I don't know why. They had to use 0003 as the boat number. Then it took weeks for them to get back to me. I thought disaster had struck but all has worked out finally.
I'm working on Adamant right now and should have her back in the water in a couple of weeks. Then there's time needed for sailing so things will go slow on Tenacity but I'll keep you updated.
 Don
