Dear Bruce,

 Here goes......

Attached are some photos of her before and after we disassembled her. I am glad we did, as we uncovered a lot of rot under the cockpit and

replaced the deck beam at the transom.

Question: The last photo is of one of the floors ?   Under the motor mount.  All of them have rusted bolts. I plan to take the bolts out and replace them one at a time. She had her keel bolts replaced with stainless a few years ago and these seem fine. Is this the right thing to do with the floor bolts?

Otherwise,  as you can see, we are down to nothing. All else is sound wood. We have carefully dismantled the cockpit and are going to replace the rotted parts with matching marine fir ply wood. The interior was replaced in the 70's. Should I go for rebuilding it as is now or back to an original look.?  Whatever that was?

Kevin

ps.   We are novices, but my son did build a Lightning last year. I thought I'd send a photo. Cypress planked, mahogany deck and old growth

heart pine spars.
