Bruce,

I have been working on the boat and will be changing the keel and tunnel stern to the Atkin's design. I believe that it will be much stronger.

Also I am very interested in getting the black locus. I will be steaming and replacing all of the ribs and using it for floor timbers and keel. How do I arrange to pick up the wood? What length and sizes are they?

Hi Bruce,

Here is the beginning of my log.  Entries will be very infrequent in the
next 6 to 8 months since I have another boat to complete.

Boat Journal 2006

Thursday, September 14 - I picked up the boat today. It was raining, almost misting. Total cost for transport of boat: $20.00 gas and repair the borrowed trailer light.

Saturday, September 16 - I striped off the deck, cabin and removed floors, basically striped it back to the bare hull.

Sunday, September 17 – Removed 40 pounds of dead leaves and walnuts. Removed rotted sister ribs.

Sunday, September 24 – Moved her from the front yard to the back. We lost a couple lilac trees in the process and a fence post. Hopefully trees will come up again in the spring. Removed her from the trailer. Quite a project for one man. Wife was down sick so could not help. Washed the trailer and discovered trailer light was only a burnt out bulb.

Saturday, October 7 – Provided support for the transom.
